There's still the universal remote issue. Since the PS3 uses bluetooth and not infrared, people still need at least 2 remotes for their home theater. Personally, I'm comfortable using my 5 remotes, but some people get worked up about this. There are some hacky solutions involving IR adapters, but these generally don't allow turning on the PS3 remotely.
