To celebrate the upcoming launch of Metal Gear Solid 4, Sony will release a special edition 80GB PlayStation 3 SKU based on the game. Come June 12, you’ll be able to grab a MGS-themed PS3 complete with a pack-in “very, very” limited edition of the game. Oh, and it’ll include the DualShock 3, too. Yowzers!
There’s also going to be a plain ol’ limited edition of the game exclusively at GameStop. Um, people still shop at specialized game stores? I thought it was “cool” to dislike GameStop these days.
Yes I still shop at GameStop! The Best Buy (which coincidentally is the next door down from GS in the same plaza) is staffed my escaped lobatomy patients! That and the manager at GS puts new releases aside for me when they roll off the truck…hot gamer chicks do rock!
Regardless, I prepaid for my MGS4 weeks ago, picked up my copy of the online beta the other day and am counting the days to the June release. Until then, here’s to smackin’ you around in the online beta strating next Thursday.
