Microsoft planning its own retail stores?

Have you guys ever heard of those Apple Stores? Apparently they’re quite popular. Microsoft is apparently planning its own store, similar to the Apple Store except it’ll probably be called The Microsoft Store or VistaHaus or DirectX Direct-2-U. I thought it was doing all right with its MicroCenter stores but it turns out that MicroCenter isn’t even owned by Microsoft! What the hey? They should sue! Or merge!
Anyway, the story’s been posted by Fudzilla and the information is scant at best but according to “sources close to Microsoft,” the Redmond giant “plans to open and create many retail shops dedicated exclusive [sic] to Microsoft and its products.” No word on locations, opening dates, or anything meaty like that. More as this develops.

Actually, it’s a line of funeral homes. Pictured is the entry way planned, a.k.a. the “Blue Wall Of Death.”

Microsoft already had one of these at San Francisco’s Metreon shopping/entertainment mall. It died after two years.
