I have facebook whitelisted. I have been using opendns for some time now. Just recently, facebook started loading strangely, text fields are there, but no tables or graphics are loading. Only certain links are working. When I go back to the Roadrunner (Time Warner) dns servers the issue goes away. I do not want to be without the opendns servers. Has anyone else experienced this? I have tried clearing browser cache, flushing dns, refreshing tcp/ip protocols, etc. The issue still continues to plague me.

Hmm, that seems technical enough to work. Next time it happens I'll be trying that command. Thanks.

It happens to me all the time in Leopard. Type 'sudo dscacheutil -flushcache' in Terminal and it goes away.

hi nick,
i don't think it's a opendns issue, i'm also able to see facebook with no problem.

my guess is it's cache. in safari, click "Safari" and then "Empty Cache." in firefox, go to "Tools" and "Clear Private Data" - unselect everything but "Cache" and click "Clear Private Data Now."

also, to go back to your time warner dns, 0.0.0.0 may not work. you want to point to the address of your router (i.e. 192.168.0.1), assuming you didn't change the settings on the router itself. if you changed the dns on the router, just clear it out and leave blank. your isp's dns will automatically be used.

hope that helps,
brian

I did and I didn't. I created a new profile in FF and then everything worked. Then I launch Safari and the problem returns. Then I go back to FF and the problem comes back.

Right now, I'm back to Time Warner's servers, I think. I just put 0.0.0.0 for all the servers in my router settings.

I had to switch back from OpenDNS because I was having similar problems, I hate when things don't work right and for some reason OpenDNS does this type of thing all the time.

I use FF on a Mac with OpenDNS. If FF has been open for some time, then all of a sudden I start getting errors.

Do you see the same error with other browsers or computers?

Dude, you can turn off that stupid roadrunner page. Look at the tiny links at the bottom of the page. I turned mine off some time ago.
