Yes, I am serious. I have it straight from T-Mo. It will launch its 1700MHz AWS spectrum in NYC for VOICE SERVICES ONLY. NO DATA!!! Why? It needs the extra capacity for voie traffic in the greater NYC area. Same goes for all the first markets. T-Mo told me it hopes to have data services available by the end of the year. Until then, any phones with 1700MHz radios will only be using them for VOICE. Again, NO 3G DATA!!! Dudes, it is going to be VOICE ONLY!!! Yes, I am serious. I have it straight from T-Mo.
