3. DLC that could be a city or cars etc
4. no 5 minute install

Well dont be sad that your movie player comes up short. Thats the trade off when Sony was more interested in bluray winning the war and re selling its movies to the collectors. The bluray drive reads too slow for games but its just perfect for movies. Sony sold the cell to Toshiba… and what are they doing with the most awsome game chip the world has ever seen?.. Putting it in computer monitors and tv’s. Again just perfect for video and game playback. Why no High end game PC’s with the cell in it? Dont they want to cater to the people who will pay big bucks for the very best? or are they afraid that the PC dudes will test it and blog and post the results…lol

Microsoft is doing everything they can to sway people who haven’t bought a console yet into getting the Xbox, like the rumors about new cities… Personally I hate the Xbox controller, sure it has slightly better graphics, and some other advantages but honestly I am much more comfortable on a Sony.

Well, Microsoft have got to do something to try and warrant the HUGE wad of cash they have handed over to get GTA IV on the 360. I can wait the one-time 5 minute delay in order to use the SIXAXIS motion control for driving around. That is apparently very cool and works very well indeed.

I’m pretty sure it takes longer than five minutes to return a malfunctioning Xbox too, so what?

I think Microsoft is wilfully forgetting how computers work with this silly comment. If the data is not installed to a hard drive it must stay on the disc. If it is on the disc it must be read from there every time it is needed, and it will therefore be slower forever (probably).
And the reason XBox didn’t have an install? Not every 360 has a hard drive, so they wipe out part of their market if they require one to install the game.
Even if that wasn’t the case, a 5 minute install will give me time to go to the toilet while I read the manual. The excitement of getting a new game I’ve been waiting for almost always gives me the squirts. Disgusting but true. Put that one on your list.

It’s not like the 5 minute install is useless. Sony should tell Microsoft “Don’t hate just because all of our consoles include a hard drive”. It’s there, why not use it to your advantage. Come on Microsoft, you should know better. You’re the real leaders when it comes to installs. I have to install a shit load of updates after installing Windows XP, Vista, Office 2003, Office 2007… and the list goes on.

I would rather have the one 5 minute install instead of longer load times. I intend to play this game a lot so I think even if the load times are only 1 nanosecond different over the life of the game I am sure this will add up to hours for me.
PS I hate microsoft and their crappy products, Not just XBOX; Zune, Vista and any other piece of crap they rip off from a company that is making something better.

Funny i seem to remember Sony suggesting that DVD9 wouldn’t have the capasity for games large enough to satisfy gamers yet now there are games so big that we don’t want more?

I don’t think that the 5 mins it will take to install the PS3 version is much of an inconvenience in it’s self but i’d like to know the size of the install as the resent trend of up to 5 gig mandatory installs is slightly worrying.

P.S. No fanboy accusations please i have both PS3 and 360 and have no brand loyalty to any products i buy.

i always find it funny when fan boys comments on articles like this, I own a PS3 and this only because i never got on with xbox controllers, everybody has their own personal likes and dislikes, i don’t really give a sh** about 5 mins install to be honest, its 8 months late as it is so come on, is 5 mins really that bad?? Microsoft always do this with their new stuff, by giving their old stuff a life span they can do as little work as posible to upgrade to a newer version (case and point Windows and original xbox just dropped like a bad habit).
All they did was get the best hardware they could find, at the time,(a better PC costs less than the 360) and stuck it together without really thinking about it (thats why theres overheating problems) and hoped it would work, then as an after thought wanted wifi, HD DVD player, etc so made them optional extras to get more money out of sucker customers. Also they havn’t improved Xbox live at all (not sure if they will because at the moment the original xbox still uses it so they can’t relly do much to it)
The also rushed production to try and beat sony to the Launch, which they did and they had tons of prblems with it because of this, Sony put their release back so they could fix their problems.The PS3 is well worth the money seeing as the 360 costs more in total with all the extras you have to buy and having to pay for online that’s not worth the money,

I dont know why ANYONE would complain about about a 5 min install, it won’t make u play the game quicker without one. But I will say having an install is MUCH better, as a result the game’s frame rate will be stronger loading times will be non-exsistant (3shitty users will have loading times) rendering will be better as well so all in all with a HD install the game will run better!! So what are u bitching about?? Sounds like the green monster to me fellas!

I own a 360 and really hope we get the option to install — the DVD drive of the 360 is annoyingly loud, and if I could run the game off the HD instead of the DVD drive, it’d be great.

Installing to the hard drive will not increase frame rate and rendering will not be better as John stated above. Both games are identical. and i’m afraid to tell you john the the 360 does have online co-op just not the main campain. it doesn’t exist for either system. so if you don’t know any real facts please shut up

iv’e got one thing to say who has sold more systems.. a little off topic yes but it’s proven people just like the 360 more. the ps3 is not worth the money and the xbox 360 is an all around better and more fun of a system to play.

I work for a popular games manufacturer, in the IT dept, we send back 5 - 10 360’s (test kits, dev kits, demo kits retails) EVERY WEEK - we have sent back 3 PS3 dev kits and test kit - that tells the story on reliability, and no the elite version doesn’t improve things, it is just an extra connection which isn’t properly utilized it purely to connect HDMI devices (not full HD signal, much like the wave of ’HD Ready TV’s that were not HD at all just had HDMI, no 1080p no 7.1, the camera is shit, PS eye has very good motion tracking so you can play games without a controller, and the controller has six-axis motion sensitive so you just tilt the controller, that is not in the 360 controller which is not ergonomic at all, they made it smaller once they will probably end up with something like the PS controller and no Sony haven’t changed its form factor, probably because it doesn’t need fixing - 360 is on it was out , tech is so old now your need to replace most of the internals to catch up with PS3’s capabilities, good looking on the x720 or maybe the 360 ultimate ………… wherever the most money comes form for billy boy ..

360 is better for games and sales, its been out longer that’s why, some peeps cant pick up a PS3 after they have forked out for 360 maybe that’s why they say its expensive, every console was £300 at launch except the Wii but that is shit . Ps3 is capable of much better graphics , has free online, a HDD as standard, BluRay (someone said bluray is shit – how funny , so are these fangled color TV’s - dickhead ) , A much better interface and media sever (I would have bought one just for the media sever, though I didn’t have to pay for one) much better sound reproduction, last update gave it DTS Master Audio , but if you don’t know what this is then you wont appreciate it much like most of the advanced features of the PS3 , they will probably become apparent within a couple of years when MS release the next Xbox.

I think PS3 hasn’t really taken of yet, but then the 360 is definitely on its way out and it had issues throughout its life, all the differences that people point out are usually not failures by sony but are really corrections of mistakes made by Microsoft, misleading the masses, Sony have done it properly 360 is a half assed attempt - if most of the 360 fans actual used a PS3 for a couple weeks they would probably see, its like a professional piece of kit , 360 is more of a toy
