We’re all for DIY, sometimes when you want to do something right you have to do it yourself and all that. You should plan ahead though. Don’t be like this Brit who spent five years hand-building a dream yacht only to find when it was completed it was too large to move from his yard.
Oops indeed.
The trimaran yacht looks badass, sure, but until he can afford a crane and truck, it’s sadly landlocked.

he’ll have the final laugh once the world floods.
I wonder if this guy grew a long white beard during the process? That is a beautiful ship though…

Did you guys even read the whole article? He doesn’t need a crane, he knew this from the beginning, he just has to take down part of his fence and get some people over to lift it onto a trailer.
“RAF St Mawgan used to airlift boats for people in similar situations as me and used it as a training opportunity.
“But apparently they don’t do that anymore – so I am going to have to take the fence down to get the boat out now.”
As usual Matt does not even bother to read the entire article in question before spewing his thoughts.
Also there is this thing called a crane. Perhaps the people that think this was news worthy enough to write about this have heard of one?
Register and add that to the gallery at RutoMail.com

Good stuff!
well really he got two big things wrong here.
the first thing he did wrong was build a trimaran.
SECOND was the whole yard thing.
Mark,
you are a buffoon.
An arrogant, self opinionated, narrow minded buffoon.
The ama’s clearly come off.
crane’s are easy
nothing 20 friends and five cases of beer wont sort out
If you try a trimaran first, you’ll never get used to the slow speeds of monohulls.
Did you ever do 18 to 20 knots for a couple of hours on a mono?
I didn’t think so.!!!
Noah!
global warming will solve the quest.
That’s too bad. Gorgeous boat.
If the yacht weighs less than 44 tons, he can have it lifted with a Russian Mil Mi-2 helicopter. That is one nice piece of machinery, the yacht I mean. Well, the helicopter too.
Way to not read the article before blogging about it.
FTA:
“It’s not as though I’m some idiot who got the measurements wrong and is now stuck with a boat he can’t move,” he said.
“I knew from the start that once the boat was finished I would face some problems getting it out of the garden.”
Honestly, Daily Mail is one of the worse newspaper in Britain! The owner is a porn peddler and the paper lacks any form of professionalism. The boat is a beauty and props to the man for building it but is it really news worthy?
nobody in their right mind reads the Daily Mail
like the Express, it should be called the Daily Madeliana
damn straight rtfa
a) Do you really think he didn’t know this was going to happen?
b) How do you know this story is even real, it’s just a photograph
c) So when he gets the money he cabn finally get a crane and launch his boa?
what’s the big deal you stupid cunts
It looks to me that this is an F32 designed by Ian Farrier for homebuilders. It weighs about 3,000 lbs dry, the floats do not disassemble, instead it folds down to 8′6″ beam (9′8″ for the AX version) and obviously is relatively easy to put on a trailer.
It is actually an F82 (27ft) and about a 1000 kg its easy to lift with some friends and jacks.
And its also foldable and will be folded to 2,5 metres.
Global warming would certainly be his solution. IF it were true, that is. B)
i want to be put in contact with this guy Id help him out if he is willing to sell it i want to check out the inside
NOAH!!
How does one walk around this vessel? I don’t see a mast or footing for one. Seems like you need to stay inside the cabin all the time. Do the amas fold, appears that they hinge next to the hull. Wonder what the inside looks like? WD
there will be nets in between the beams and in front of the beams ( just like on beach cats) if you look closely you can see a pivot ball for a wingmast which turns left and right.
I really love this boat. I’d like to know the designer of the boat and if the boat is on sail or not. Awesome design..great work on the yard.. Please let me know..Cheers.
