Cost me $180 to BTO it (education price). This card is FAST! And it's $100 less than the 1900 - which was the 8800GT's predecessor when bought an add-on. In the 2.66 Mac Pro I have at work, I believe it cost my employer $300-350 to BTO the 1900. The problem with the author's complaint about $100 (implying Apple's greed) is the author seems to forget this is the price of a smaller market, Apple has to pay for driver development, which costs hundreds of thousands of dollars. (So says a bunch of hardware developers who refuse to write Mac drivers for their products.) For a card that's designed for computers Apple no longer sells, that's significant, if you ask me. This card is for older Mac Pros that can't use the first 8800GT that was BTO as of January 2008 (and didn't ship until the third week of February). How many graphics card manufacturers come out with cards for computers that don't sell any more? Answer me that. Then tell me about Apple's greed.
