3K announces eee-alike notebook for $399 - UPDATED
by John Biggs on April 23, 2008

3K Computers, which basically sells OEM laptops, just launched the $399 Longitude 400, a 1GB mini-notebook that runs Linux. The laptop weighs less than two pounds and includes Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and a little touchpad. It runs a Ingenic 4730 400MHz Mobile Processor400MHz 32-bit single core processor (probably VIA) and a 7-inch screen. Apparently “end users will have a pleasant experience with a GUI Based Full-Flash menu interface for ease of use.”

With only 1GB of on-board memory, expandable via SD card, I’m hard pressed to call this an eee PC replacement, but it might be good for bargain seekers.

I’m glad to find out it has 4GB on board.

  • Looks awesome… Check out that link for a 360 Degree View. You may want to wait a second since it is flash and takes a few moments to load. What a great machine!! I may have to pick one of these up!!!
