Yes, we all hate Big Brother and his technology which follows us everywhere. But this is just asking for trouble.

On the US border at LA last year I was stopped, and questioned for 30 mins about why my Canadian passport wasn&#039;t chipped. Well... duh, because it&#039;s old and I haven&#039;t got a new one yet.

So if that&#039;s the treatment you get for having an old passport, how would Customs treat your for having one with a chip which didn&#039;t work for &#039;some reason&#039;?</description>
