AT&T would subsidize the phones meaning they are selling them at a loss. The idea being that they would make the money back by drawing in new customers and on the cost of the plan that would be required for the iPhone. Fortune magazine has an unfortunate tendency to print random unconfirmed stuff that doesn't come true. The only drawback is new customers of the Iphone get the lowest plan for $59.99 with unlimited data and internet. It is a $20 add on for existing subscribers. So, after 10 months the $200 savings would be nil. On second thought, ill just wait.
