Buying a new car may not be an option. Employers can help. I've got lots of great ideas on The HR Answer Blog at www.allbusiness.com. Read "Will employees call in sick when they can't afford the gas to get to work?"

You can't sell a Segway for less than it costs to manufacturer and hope to make up the loss in volume. Despite what many have learned in business school, that isn't the way to run a successful business.

I am sure Ford would sell more Escape Hybrids if they priced them at $15,000 each.

What you are really saying is if the price was lower, you would consider buying a Segway. That is likely true.

But to think Segway doesn't want to sell one to you so they price it more than your are willing to pay and then somehow for you to criticize Segway doesn't make sense.

If Ferrari would sell me a 599 for $80,000 I would buy one. By your argument, they should lower the price. Hogwash

Truth is you can get a Gen 1 Segway for under $2,000 and a Gen 2 out of warrantee for less than $4,000.

I have two Segway's and use one of them on a daily basis. I have reduced my gas vehicle driving by nearly 20% by using the Segway. Plus I save a bunch on parking fees and parking tickets. So the cost of the Segway is not the only factor when looking at the price. Glide on...

Cheers!

When is Segway going to realize that they would make a LOT more money if they would build a Segway that cost LESS than $5,000.
