One thing everyone might one to look in as well if you want a one-stop 'console' to play all your games from is Game EX; http://www.gameex.net/.

It's a free program that acts as a skinnable front-end for a large amount of emulators out there. I've got it running on a MAME-Box (home-made arcade cabinet) and it certainly makes life easier. There's a nag-screen when you first open it that stays up for a few seconds, you can donate to get rid of it and get a few extra options like internet radio integration but it's not required.

Thanks for including suggestions for us Mac users...so much of the emu world is Windows only, but since Apple is taking over... :) Oddly enough, Genesis Plus recently quit working for me...Generator works as well though.

I've got a GP2X, which I adore, but would sell it towards the Pandora...that thing is dreamy! Amiga/C64/Genesis, plus email/web (with a keyboard) in my pocket, umm yes please! And the homebrew games should be much better too, with the much better graphics chip.

NHL on the genesis is my killer app...and there are people out there who hex edit the game to update it with current rosters! Incredible.

Please post a full Pandora review when you get your hands on one, as I suspect you'll see a review unit before I get mine!

I dunno about Yu, but for me:

LJP for the Palm (where you can play NES and Atari!!!)

I concur with any other emulator listed here, ZSNES gives me better results though, FCE Ultra is the best choice for your Linux or Windows box, MAME32FX is the easiest MAME IMHO (get loemu on linux), ePSXe is really great too (Connectix was IT, but they stopped it on its tracks), with Project64 there are plugins to make your Mario64 look really cool!, VBAdvance is cool but there was NO$GBA which is also great (because it can emulate more than one machine), PCSX2 is not for everyone (you need a pretty powerful machine, but i have seen FFX and DMC executing there).

For roms there are some sites that work seven eleven serving you roms... wink wink.

For mame you also need some rom bios so it can emulate the machines...

What else? Oh yes, there's Dreamcast emulation outhere, Chankast should work well by now, maybe...

Get a graphics card that can output video to your tv... get a control with at least 10 buttons. Playing it now is almost as good as it used to be, unless you take into account that now you can have SAVE STATES!!!!

Anyone who's into emulation is cheating themselves if they don't own a GP2X. That thing is a freakin' riot, if you love Atari, NES, GB, Genesis... more than I can list.

Go get one!
