Rockstar releasing GTA IV patch for PS3 sometime today
by Peter Ha on May 7, 2008

Soon after GTA IV launched it was rather apparent that all the bugs weren’t squashed for the PS3 and the only solution Rockstar could muster up was to re-install. Sometime today, if it hasn’t already happened, Sony and Rockstar will release a patch to help alleviate the stress being put on the servers.

“reducing the loads on the servers at GameSpy and hopefully the completely random hangs that some users have seen.”

Can any PS3 owners in the audience check on this for us?

  • i got a patch 1.01

  • Um… I know you guys like cute graphics n’ all, but why the _Microsoft_ BSOD on a post about issues on _Sony_ consoles?

  • noo, because my game is still taking a bit longer to load and also it froze online just 25 minutes ago, so i would say it didnt fix anything. does anyone else have this problem?

  • Just crashed twice on me. Trying again.

Can’t even get as far as the damn online.

Took 8 days for them to release a patch and it’s still freezing. Absolutely unbelievable. I can’t believe I’ve just spend £50 on a game that can’t even be played for longer than two minutes.

  • The patch only fixed some multiplayers issues. There is still thousands of us that can’t play the game at all. It freezes during the first scene. The game locks the PS3 up and you cannot control it. You have to do a soft reset. Rockstar needs to prioritize and fix the major issues.
