A sorta complicated way to install games on your Zune
by Doug Aamoth on May 8, 2008

cimg0151640x480ws2 Zune Boards has a tip about how to install games onto Microsoft’s flagship portable media player. The process is, shall we say, a bit too involved for most people but hey, those of you who want to do a little gaming on your Zune likely have the kind of drive, determination, and chutzpah to do this.

Godspeed.

In a nutshell, you’ll need to download two programs; Microsoft XNA Game Studio 3.0 CTP and Visual C# 2008. You install C# first, then Game Studio. After that, all hell breaks loose as you basically turn yourself into a game developer, creating a connection to your Zune device and then building and deploying games onto it (except you don’t have to actually program the games).

I imagine this process isn’t too bad once you get the hang of it, and seasoned C# and C++ programmers probably won’t have too much trouble. Have fun and be careful.
