First… Destro doesn’t run or started cobra!! How can you even be okay with that..start F’n up things like that and that TELLS ME they don’t know what they are doing…or CARE! I read the 1st Treatment..and i can tell it hasn’t changed. Steven Sommers cant do G.I.JOE with out ruining it! That’s why the Mummy isn’t better than INDY, cause he tries to copy other directors… Ecclesson may be a great actor, but Destro is also physically intimidating!!! That’s like getting some skinny -ass guy to play King Lionidas in 300! Also he supposed to wear it ALL the time! since its a family tradition! ..and they have him as this weapons manufacturer PRETENDING to be GOOD?, PLEASE! the only decent person cast was Scarlet! every one else is WRONG! Duke is too young, Hawk way too OLD..geez they DONT put Stalker!? How is THAT right!? He’s next in command..also nWHEN the hell did SNAKE EYES have a mouth molded on the mask!?..he’s MUTE!! oh, the stoopid POWER SUITS!? really they need suits?! give me a break! They wanna be IRON MAN?This movie would have been better off sticking with realword weapons . Brendan Frasier is GUNG HO? what, the ROCK was too busy? Frasier is a lame choice for GUNG HO , who’s buit like a LINEMAN by the way. Any one who is content with fancy CGI doesnt realize the story is MORE important, THAT’S what happened to this MOVIE its gonna be as lame as GHOST RIDER or the Fantastic Four!

Your’e all idiots. Destro’s mask is a closely guarded secret. Several websites have had pics up and Paramount has had them removed within hours.

Of course he wears a fucking mask. He’s fucking Destro.

Also, Chris Eccleson is far more godly than any of you jackasses. You should be lining up around the block for even a chance to glimpse at acting as awesome as his.

All you people do realize this this is technically a prequel to the 80’s cartoon right? So maybe something happens in this movie that leads to Destro getting the mask. And since the Joes are first formed in this movie they are all wearing military spec gear before they can wear personalized uniforms. One thing you have to remember when it comes to a real life adaptation, you have to adapt the formula to real life. No military special ops team is going to wear the clothes the cartoon did. That was a way to market the toys and your all just stupid if you think that a live action movie should mimic that.

Ya’ll sound like a bunch of fanboy bitches. Let’s face it, the cartoons from the 80s and 90s would NOT translate well to a live action movie made in 2009. And that’s the most important you guys are missing.

I grew up watching shows like TMNT, GI Joe, Dinosaucers, Transformers, that whole wrks, but I ahve yet to see the reaso to be upset about what I’ve seen so far from this movie.

As big of a fan as I was of the original series, I’d be damned if I’m watching a movie in 2009 with cast looking like members of the Raibow Coalition. As a kid, yea, that’s fine – but now? Nah, I’m grown and want to see a movie as such.

At the end of the day, it’s not about HOW these people look (masked Destro or not…even if he wore one all the time, its no damn reason to have a heart attack if he didn’t), as long as the MOVIE IS GOOD (Which you can’t judge by just the pictures alone so calm the fuck down)…that’s all I care about.

Wow, talk about fan boys. The Cartoons will always remain the same, whats the beef? its just a 90min movie, in comparison to hundreds of episodes.

I think if they imitated the cartoons in live action, it would look ridiculous, seriously, you want a major villain to be a metal faced non emotive character? come on. all the vibrant colors would make this goofy.

All production defense aside….

The trouble lies in the script, which was written right before the writers strike happened, meaning I was severely rushed. From what I hear, its a trainwreck. But who knows really.

Transformers – This will not be.

personally, I think a kick ass cgi gi.joe movie would be prime, a la advent children/tmnt

Still, cartoons are cartoons, so take it easy fellas and don’t have an aneurysm over it.

Every red-blooded American male that grew up watching 80’s toons should boycott these piss-poor remakes unless they get it right (by actually listening to the fans), I say.

Quit tampering with the formula, it’s already in place. You need not redesign and rewrite everything beyond recognition, Hollywood.

Is this X-Men 4, judging by those absurd costumes? What’s that, Paramount? GI Joe you say?? Riiiight. Grow a pair and make an American Hero or count me out.

I’ll NOT see it after that colossal turd Michael Bay called Transformers. Peter Cullen as Prime couldn’t save that film any more than Ray Park will save this one. Hollywood is poised to destroy all of our fondest childhood memories. Thanks guys.

This is the WORST casting and movie EVER!!!! This is a huge pile of Cr-p!!

Everything about this MOVIE is BAD, casting , production design, costumes …EVERYTHING…period. I would rather go see a chick flik. RAY park as snake eyes CANNOT save this movie.

Does this really MATTER. Sometimes it is not the look but the ATTITUDE. Chris has got it in spades. Hell, Destro was supposed to be scottish in the old days. Chris may not be but at least he will SOUND closer then anything the TV show ever produced. I bet you guys complain that Samuel L Jackson is Nick Fury in Iron man too. WHo CARES. It doiesn’t make it any less cool. And who says that Destro won’t be GETTING a mask in the movie? :P
