iPhone to get .Mac push email

I’m sure not many people are that excited to get .Mac push email — does anyone use .Mac email addresses, really? — but it’s nice to know that you will have the option when the new firmware comes out. Basically this is proof that the iPhone will get push email across the board, which is the real takeaway here.

On a side note, do not let your boss read this. IT guys: beware. Your higher ups will want an iPhone when they hear the word “push.” Be prepared to tell him that the Dunn’s number of the security packet is incompatible with the Exchange system token on the cloud. That’ll shut them up and make them use his Blackberry for another year.

  • Too late. My boss walked in with an iPhone the first week it went on sale. The good news is, iTunes auto-configured mail, etc. perfectly and we haven’t had to spend one minute supporting it.

  • Yeah, better to talk some magical language like some witch doctor to avoid having to admit that Blackberry’s whole infrastructure just became obsolete, proving IT doesn’t care about saving money and making things work better if that have to learn a new device.
