We’re still not able to experience Home on our PS3s, but Sony Computer Entertainment’s David Reeves says it will definitely be out by Autumn. He goes on to say that SCEE may have been too ambitious in its plans for the application, which is a Sims-like social networking tool, much like Second Life.
To make it more attractive, SCEE will be adding games to the application, virtual amusement in a virtual world. What’s unknown is if anyone still cares.

As a big fan of the PS3, I certainly don’t care. Would rather see this money spent upgrading 40 GB PS3’s the allow old PS2 games be played. Its not a huge deal, but there are times I want to pull “Everything or Nothing” or something out of the drawer. The last thing I want or need is another excuse to spend time online not actually doing anything, but that’s just me. Guess I’m not their demographic.
I bet some people would be interested, social networking has become so popular over the last couple of years and people seem to be wanting more niche sites orientated around a particular product/interest.
Though google have launched their version-lively recently so this may steel sony’s thunder.
I wrote a post about it on my blog http://facevaluebook.blogspot.com
