Keep seldom-used membership cards in your iPhone

swimcard_2

Behold! The future! I suppose this might work with any relatively large-screened phone, but let’s use the iPhone as an example. A guy in the Netherlands has scanned all of his membership cards into his iPhone — any membership cards that require a simple scanning of the barcode, that is. Smart, smart, smart.

“The cards are stored as images in an iPhoto album that is synced with my iPhone through iTunes. Newly scanned cards are stored in the album and are automatically synced. When asked for the card I pull out my phone and open the “card” in full screen mode.”

No way the bar code would scan off a picture like that. Regardless, I don’t know anywhere that requires membership cards where a picture of it would get you in. Same idea as a photocopy of it.. not valid.

I wonder if he passworded that stuff, I mean aren’t cell phones (& iPhones) prone to thefts?
