Latest “Get a Mac” video gives me the sense they’ve jumped the shark

Apple needs to revamp their ad campaign. I’m perfectly content with their iPod/iTunes commercials, but these “Get a Mac” ads are getting old and not as funny as they used to be. What do you guys think?

Not their finest effort, but I do like the dog.

I thought they stopped being funny a long time ago.

I think they make a great comic duo. They fit well together and yet they are still able to get the point across. This has to be a thorn in the side of MSFT. They get hammered in these ads and they really have no way to make a counter-point. The general idea is that Vista is a flop. And these commercials just continue to support that belief. Where are the rebuttals from MSFT? Not at the ads in general, but at least something to address this issue. It really says a lot when the response from Redmond is nothing. Maybe their marketing department is too busy laughing at these ads to conjure up a rebuttal.

This one was lame, but I thought the new cheerleader one was funny.

The commercials aren’t for you guys so I could care less what you all think.

Loved it. Laughed and laughed.

I think the phrase, ‘Jumped the shark’ has ‘Jumped the shark’. How about, ‘The mayo’s gone yellow’? or ‘That’s so Microsoft’?

I didn’t find the song one terribly funny - but the support group one had me in stitches! I kept having little laughing fits for 10 minutes or so following seeing it on TV - my wife thought I’d lost it!

Their just running though the targets. Rednecks, anyone?

Loved it. I’m a sucker for “groaners”. I hope they keep this up. Each one gets better.

Way to go guys!

Richard Taylor…thanks for the “That’s so Microsoft!” Now I’ve got a new phrase to use on sooooo many.

Gotta say that my wife (a PC user) laughed a lot at this one. She hates Justin Long and loves John Hodgeman (the PC guy), but for some reason thought this was funny… so there’s no accounting for taste.

These ads are great. i always look forward to the next one. They are not supposed to hit you like a sledgehammer. They are just gentle nudges.

I think you need to stop using the phrase “Jumped the shark”. I’ve seen two posts already today with it in it and I’m already annoyed.
And as for the ad, its funny as ever, and I think you need to stop analyzing their ads so harshly. If it ain’t broken don’t fix it. There use that phrase a few times.

I thought the “Group” ad was hilarious. Best one yet.

Awesome ad. But I liked the cheerleader one better.

50%+ of incoming freshman are choosing Mac. The very same people that parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, go to for computer advice and tech support.

A wave a of CHANGE is coming. In more ways than one.

The commercials actually started out in midair with a shark beneath them.
