Comcast has blocked my bittorent traffic. I can download fine but I cannot seed. I pay them about $250/pm for cable/IP phone/Internet. I am actively looking for AtnT DSL as an alternative. Although DSL is slower than cable, but they do not disable bittorrent traffic..

Comcast no longer blocks bittorrent? GARBAGE! AND, you're full of garbage. Comcast shuts me down every time I use a btclient. Yet when I just surf the web there's no problem at all with no disconnects.

When FIOS is available I am so gone from Comcast in every way!

Comcast torrent blocking is NOT a thing of the past. I thought there was a legal ruling that banned Comcast from blocking torrents. Apparently Comcast is above the law.

My "comcastic" internet connection works fine for months at a time, until I start downloading torrents. Within a half hour of starting to download torrents my internet connection dies, not just the torrents, but internet, e-mail, EVERYTHING!!!

The only way to restore access is by unplugging my modem, and then everything works fine... until I start downloading a torrent again and it all repeats itself.

If this isn't torrent blocking, I don't know what is. And I'm not one of those "handful of people that used extremely excessive amounts of bandwidth every month." I download torrents 3-4 times a month. I would hardly call that excessive.

I am paying for a service that I am not receiving and am not the least bit happy about it.

Bit torrent blocking on Comcast is a thing of a past. It was only an issue for a handful of people that used extremely excessive amounts of bandwidth every month, and was only put into place to make sure other paying Comcast customers on the same node as them, would have an equal amount of bandwidth to share.

Comcast no longer blocks Bit Torrent in any way.
