If you’re feeling brave, and have a little experience putting parts in your desktop, this might be a cool (and expensive) little project for you. OCZ is offering kits to put together your own high-performance laptop, with plenty of configuration options for those who love to tweak.

At the moment I don’t see any prominent pricing information, but they say that that putting it together yourself results in savings. I’d be a little spooked putting all that together, but I would like to know about the guts of my laptop in case I want to upgrade. We’ll keep you posted on pricing and availability.

  • I’d love it if notebooks started using a standard so you could build your own/upgrade certain parts. One of the reasons why I haven’t gotten one yet. Don’t want to spend $XXX and then a year or two later not the ability to upgrade without buying an entire new system.
