I hate it when strangers Skype me out of the blue “wanting to talk” but now I hate these damn robots even more. Here’s an exchange I had this afternoon and I think you’ll agree that my mom needs to get some new friends and maybe get her life back together.

Look John, whether it be spam apps, random people annoying the hell out of you, whatever it may be its something you have to get over. If you make the choice to logon and use Skype, you are making the choice to communicate and therefore open yourself to these annoyances. Get over it, or get off. Its just that simple.

I can’t figure out how to just turn text based IM’s off in Skype. I have ONE person I even talk to. All my friends are on Adium. I don’t NEED another IM program. Skype is for voice. Let me disable the text.
