Battle Royale (not so much): iPhone vs Bold

Everyone knows that I’m not the biggest fan of the iPhone and I usually steer clear of most comparisons because I find them useless. That being said, I’ll reiterate the uselessness of this comparison between the current gen iPhone and RIM’s upcoming BlackBerry Bold by the iPhone blog. I don’t even care about the fact that the Bold is the clear winner because we have no idea what the 3G iPhone will ship with. But if you’d like to take a look for yourself then feel free to do so after the jump.

“…quite a bit wider…” Really? I don’t think so.
“I like the UI of the iPhone better…” No shit?! You write for the IPHONE BLOG.

The comparison is a bit weak considering the Bold they have is not final spec. I’m halfway through this video and it makes me want to vomit.

  • Rock on Peter Ha. Rock on.

  • It’s okay. No worries. iPhones are probably going to remain out of stock till mid June anyway! A move that is going to increase demand and then eventually just frustrate potential iPhoners into getting a Blackberry anyway!

  • Its hillarious how this guy makes a snide comment about the Bold looking like the iPhone.

    Not to dis iPhones (which I Love) – but to pretend that the “look” is being copied is hilarious to me. Its almost all screen, except for a silver border. Should competitors add real estate to devices just so it doesn’t “look” like an iphone – an almost all-screen device?

    Get off your high horse mofos!

  • It seems to me that the true uselessness of this comparison is that the iPhone and the Bold are not targeted to the same consumer base at all. Most of the press I’ve read on the Bold specifically state that they created it for those Blackberry users who kind of like the idea of the iPhone, but have no interest or desire whatsoever in a touchscreen keyboard.

  • lol u can tell that he was one of the ppl who ran and got an i-phone when they first came out. It kills him everytime he makes a good statement about the BOLD LOL

  • As a counter argument…

    * Free Push Email
    * Physical buttons
    * Copy Paste etc
    * Fwd emails and txt’s
    * Send and receive picture messages

    All of these things can be done on the Bold and cant on the iPhone. I find them all very handy.

  • sounds like a description of the G1 to me :P
