So there’s a movie coming up in the next few years based on the video games of Castlevania, one of the most successful lines of games ever. And we don’t mean the awesome-sounding one by my friend Warren Ellis, this is a live-action Simon Belmont pic by the guys who did Resident Evil and Stomp the Yard.
Wait, what?
Yes. Who knows, maybe it won’t 100% suck as bad as it sounds like it will.

Hopefully it turns out more like the first two Resident Evils than AvP…
Thing is that most people will:
Want to see the movie about what they imagined Castlevania would be, and what they could understand with all the mistranslations and such,
Want to see an intelligent movie that adheres to the letter to the epoch, has a compelling story, and where it’s the actors and not the special FX what define the movie in a socio-cultural context of today and will leave you philosophizing about the morals of today….
But guess what? It’s just a movie about a videogame. Big FX, nonsense from beginning to end, some alter plot line and at least decent enough script will be what we all end up getting. And it will be great, and i will go see it.
