LG displays two-sided LCD display

LG is unveiling a new display in Asia this week that could have pretty obvious applications for mobile devices if it goes into production. It’s an un-backlit, transparent LCD display, more like a window than a screen.
Imagine if your flip phone had the same display inside and out, literally. That’s the idea with this new technology.
No word on when we’ll see it implemented, if at all, but it could be a handy way to diplay information in a variety of ways. Let’s hope it doesn’t get old soon.

LG also makes consumer computer LCDs too, right? I really hope this makes it mainstream because this would make for some great advertising signage.
