Sienna Miller as Baroness (De Cobray-yes, she actually had a last name)… HOT HOT HOT!!
The baroness only really had 3 requirements:
1. Utter Slinkiness
2. Be European
3. Look POURED into a black leather outfit.

Chris Ecchelston (sp.?) as Destro…
I’m willing to forego the steel mask for his ability to play a total badass… Plus, how believable could the mask really be?

You are right Hollwood needs to be slapped across the face for their choices for character roles. I would definetly change a few things starting with Marlon Wayans, give him the role of Stalker or Torpedo, Bredan Fraser would make a good Hawk, or Lt. Falcon, and change the Rock’s character to Roadblock,Flint or Destro.And finally Destro needs to be more massive and bulkier like the Rock and keep his headgear on for at least 3/4 of the film, because in the comics Destro only took his mask off in presense of Baroness. Otherwise Hollywood will completely butcher this show. I was just focusing on how cool Snake-Eyes and Baroness looked, I loved Ray Park as Darth Maul in Star Wars, and as the Headless Horseman in SleepyHollow. I got excited over his mastery and showmanship of swords.

Hey Harry, shut your cumdumpster. It’s not the people complaining that are ruining the movie, it’s the fudge packers in hollywood that are destroying the hero’s of our youth. Have you seen the atrocity that they call Snake eyes? He looks like an extra reject from Heartbeeps! Storm Shadow? Since when the hell was he a little Andro boychild? And a wayans brother in a GI Joe movie? What the Hell were the crackheads in casting thinking? The Rock as shipwreck? Cool dude, but he is NOTHING like Shipwreck, not even close! Brendan Fraiser as Gung Ho? Hollywood needs to be razed to the ground for this latest in a long line of atrocities that rape our childhood in the name of a quick buck!

So many people complain about a movie and ruin it for the rest of us. We should be optimistic that a live action big budget production is under way. I remember when the animated movie came out, that was true to the characters and most people were still disappointed. Try not to be so judgmental, aroness looks hot and Snake-eyes is too cool. That’s all I care about. Keep in mind that whenever they make a big film they have to cater to fans and newcomers as well. If they made everthing just like the toys they would still be some disgruntled viewers. So, you can’t please everyone.

I just watched a little known movie called ‘Interview’ with Steve Buscemi and Sienna Miller. Though her character was a ‘B movie actress’, she still had a few places in the film where her freak flag flew. As long as the DIRECTOR will get the attitude right, I think she will do very well. And as for Chris Eccleston, did you see him in The Seekers? He can do dark.
I mean come on, at least in this movie they aren’t gonna kill off every character that is STILL ALIVE in the comic book like those punk tools did in X-Men III…what a sham.
1-great, 2-better, 3—Chilled Rhino Ass.
I mean, you name the movie X-Men The Last Stand. Ok, we got it, it’s the last movie. Don’t insult me by killing off a buttload of characters, especially ones that are still alive in the comic for pete’s sake.
Gah, I’ll stop. Sorry, I just hadnt been disappointed in a movie like that since The Avengers.

Wait… so why exactly is she wrong?

1. Glasses — Check
2. Brunette (at least in the movie) — Check
3. Tight Leather Clothes — Check

Seriously — the costumes are actually quite similar to the original outfits worn by characters in the ’80s (and boohoo, Destro only wears a mask for part of it… and isn’t wearing it in a promotional still set to let people know it’s Chris Eccleston — who is a bit of a Scifi god these days with Doctor Who and Heroes). They made them a little more physically possible to be worn, but other than that… they’re pretty damned good.

You’re like the guys who wrote off Transformers after seeing one shot of Optimus Prime (”Boohoo, he’s a long nose truck!”). It’s not like the 1980s cartoon was the original iteration of GI Joe anyways…

Also, you’re forgetting the original cartoon was pretty flippin’ terrible to start with. If the movie ends up being terrible, it won’t be any worse than a single episode of the show (especially the one where Cobra and GI Joe team up to fight the Evil Drug Dealers… nothing worse than a cartoon with an arbitrary message)

The only hope I see for this film is if at the very end, after the credits, there’s a public service announcement telling kids not to sniff model glue. That would save the film for me.
