3/4 of attendees walk out of Uwe Boll’s cinematic treatment of Postal

We make fun of Uwe Boll quite a bit on here, mostly because he’s a horrible director who seems to specialize in destroying would-be cool films based on video games. Not only is he bad at making movies based on popular video games, but also movies of games that make you question why they’re made at all.
If any proof was ever needed of the suckitude that Boll puts out, one needs only look at last weekend’s free screening of Boll’s latest, a film adaptation of Postal.
So bad was this movie, especially a scene spoofing the 9/11 attacks, that 150 of the 200 attendees walked out. I’ve seen very few films bad enough that I’d walk out of — Spy Kids 3 and Speed Racer come to mind — but the idea that 150 people would walk out of a free screening is telling.
Please stop letting this man make movies, waste money, and ruin video games.

The only movie I ever walked out of was, in fact, a free movie. John Carpenter’s Dark Star. Man, I hated that movie.

You people obviously don’t know what you’re talking about. Maybe I’m not making the video for you. Maybe those people who walked out shouldn’t have been there in the first place. I’m be first to admit that not everyone loves our films. If they were paying customers they would have stayed. They didn’t get it, that’s why it was free. Do some research before posting this shit about our films.

Errrr. Huh? It was free because people watching the movie didn’t get it? I’d like to think I can translate what you are trying to say, but, honestly, this particular instance, I haven’t a clue. I get that some people ‘didn’t get it (the film)’. That’s pretty much true about any endeavor, be it cinematic, music, prose, poetry. But I don’t see what the fact that some percentage of the population won’t get your movie has to do with a free screening.

That 150 people walked out? That your movies suck? Please explain so that I can correct you as to how what you are defining as ‘this shit’ isn’t anything but a person’s opinion, and as you have already pointed out, not everyone will get your films, ergo, some people will have a negative opinion about your films, ergo, well… ‘this shit’ is nothing but an anagram.

Oh, I’ll add one more question, specifically surrounding the ‘Do some research’ quote.
Do some research about what? I mean, lets say you found some way to be polite and were able to sit down and have a pleasant conversation surrounding this post. You would like to entreat Matt to look into certain things that would provide a more rich background of information on which to base his opinions.
Just what are those things you want them to look into? What is there to research?

Speed Racer was no Godfather, but is it really in the same class as Spy Kids 3 and Uwe Boll’s movies? (BTW, why did you go see Spy Kids 3?)

I can come up with lots of reasons to see spy kids 3. Ricardo Montalban, Cheech Marin, Robert Rodriguez, Alan Cumming, Tony Shalhoub, Steve Buscemi, the fact that the first one was good and that the second wasn’t horrible…. Unfortunately, this was definitely a case of diminishing returns.

Speed racer wasn’t a bad movie at all. You must just be an idiot for not liking it. And spy kids 3? If you ever seriously went to see that movie then you officially are a class A jackass for plain stupidity. Speed racer was a good, enjoyable film. Idiot.

I’ve noticed that the people who are attending the movie tend to have an overwhelming bias against Uwe Boll. Of the 2 times I’ve seen it (yes 2) I’ve overheard quite a few people saying some really negative stuff even before the previews ended. It’s sad when people have nothing but bad things to say about the guy, but it’s completely pathetic when they go see his films to try and find new things to demonize him about. Props to Uwe for wanting to continue to make films with all this crap going on against him….hell, I know it’d make me go Postal.

Gee, New Yorkers walking out of a film featuring a 9/11 spoof…how surprising. What about all the other theatres? I really wish people would stop cherry picking news stories about the guy. He may be a dick but he’s not the source of the world’s problems. He may be an ass, but so is nearly every director in Hollywood so find a new hobby already.

Err, what? Are you trying to show everyone how trendy you are by jumping on the “Lynch Uwe Boll because he’s not respecting OUR video game properties” bandwagon? Why do you REALLY want to stop him? I challenge you not to use the names of the movies “Bloodrayne”, “Alone in the Dark”, or any other film you idiots think Uwe Boll has shamed you on in your answer.
Honestly, I have no clue why you morons drone on about Uwe Boll being the Antichrist because frankly the arguments are getting really stale. Oh yea he made adaptations you hate and he boxed a bunch of nerds who pissed on his films. B-F-D…you saw at least one these movies knowing full well Uwe wasn’t your bag. You’re not helpless.
