Hey, I hear a new rumor!!! Only Steve Jobs knows when the new iPhone will be available and what features it will have!!!

Seriously, the photos above are clearly fake. The “Xp” gives it away. People really need to pay attention to details when photoshopping these fake images and advertising materials.

aim can do video chat with ichat, but only video, no audio! and the codec aim uses sucks big time, nothing compared to the qaulity of the ichat to ichat video codec…!!!

If it did, then this is great because it will force Skype to also release multi-video capabilities – right now only being able to use one video at a time kinda sucks for conference calls.

Good point I read on Twitter (http://twitter.com/chartier/statuses/829300713): You can already do video chats between iChat and AIM on Windows, so Apple wouldn’t need to release iChat for Windows to enable iPhone-PC video chat.

Going by the trend Apple has followed (releasing iTune and Safari for Windows), it’s a perfectly plausible theory that iChat too is in store. And man, would I love that?! :-)

I absolutely agree. The layout is laughable, and the “wifi” and “Xp” errors are too striking to be even considered legitimate. While some of this may prove to be true come Monday, these pictures are just lucky guesses.

Sounds like you’re in denial – the image is not genuine, for a number of reasons. These are the biggest ones:

– the lock is missing on the red iPhone. Even if they were just taking one image and changing the colors, there wouldn’t be a missing lock.

– Apple’s legal department knows better than to publish something like “RED ™”, not to mention the fact that it’s totally uncharacteristic of them to do that.

– the layout of the ad is horrendous, and not even up to par as a professional designer’s rough draft.

If anything, I would say the more likely scenario is that someone with knowledge of the new iPhone (but never having actually seen it), decided to create this “leak” for the purpose of disseminating the information (knowing full well that nobody would pay any attention if it was just a description).
