There’s going to be a live-action movie in the works based on “Turok,” which many of you might find familiar from Turok: Dinosaur Hunter on the Nintendo 64. Apparently it was also a comic book, too, and it appears that the movie will be more based on the comic book than the game, which is probably a good thing.
The movie will star Adam Beach, who’s had some good roles. I haven’t seen any of them except for his role as Chester Lake on “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit,” which I found to be “exhilarating, true, breathtaking, and refreshing.” Two thumbs up.
Beach has already provided the voice for Turok in an upcoming animated film and is currently involved with the development process for the live-action film. He grew up on the Dog Creek Indian Reserve in Manitoba and “calls the opportunity to play a Native American superhero ‘a dream’,” according to MTV Movies.
“He’s the first Native American superhero that I ever looked up to,” he said. “He basically [comes from] a family where they’re protecting our universe from an alternate universe that wants to take it over. He uses his wits, and his might, and his special bow and arrow to take over the world.”
The film itself is still a few years off, but the script is currently being developed.

Dude, says “dude” a lot. Does Turok? How old is Turok anyway ’cause isn’t Beach like 35 or 36? In a couple of years he’ll be 37 or 38! A bit old to play Turok or is a nearly 40 year old dinosaur killer what the world is waiting for? Surely there are many talented, younger Native American actors better suited.
After reading of Turok from Rai and the Future Force, and seeing this actor on Wikipedia, this film will be a straight made for TV film. He’s too old, Turok is like younger and stronger, and just plane bolder. He looks too nice.
Great comic books they were, the stories were great. Hating my dad right now for forcing me to get rid of those comic books.
