That's right Eddie and Nick. Your arguments are flawless. By the same token, I eat cheeseburgers all day and have low cholesterol. Therefore, all this information about cholesterol and all these drugs that lower cholesterol is B.S. Anyone who reports high cholesterol is an idiot.

Vista is a walking abortion. That's why MS is already moving on to Windows 7 scheduled for 2009. I work in the IT industry. Very few of my colleagues are implementing vista due to rampant problems in the large scale.

I'm in agreement with Eddie, I have had a vista laptop for about 8 months now and have had no problems with it at all - literally none at all. In fact my vista laptop, although the spec is worse than my xp desktop runs better! Sure xp boots/gets to the desktop quicker but once your there you can't do anything until everything has loaded with vista you can start doing stuff right away.

Ok so you can whine and say there should be verification before installing software but how can microsoft enforce a procedure onto every software manufacturer? Especially when the software is older than vista. The only way vista could check software for "authenticity" or "workability" would be to run it in a virtual environment first; which would take longer than a normal installation, and no doubt you'd be whining about that too.

So what if it uses more system resources? There are more to be used! What would be the point of having more system resources and not using them for extra features/usability? Excuse me im going to go and search for a media file by typing in half the name into a search bar conveniently located on the start menu. Good Day.

"However the point remains that of all the work put into Vista, shouldn’t there be something that tells you when you’re doing it wrong?"

Amen.

We know that Vista works well with aliens of the Reptilian Type. So a more interesting and relevant headline would be "Man gets Windows Vista to work with humans".

Perfect example of Microsoft ineptitude.

I cannot install OS 9 drivers on my OS X machine, so why does MS allow such actions.? Is Vista too stupid to know the difference and recognize "it's own code"?..... Apparently.

This is why I will never buy a Windows machine, and stick with my Mac. It just works.

You'd think that if the drivers weren't built for Vista then you shouldn't install them. If they weren't marked clear enough that's one thing, if you can't figure out XP Vista that's another.
