There was more than 8 million downloads of Firefox 3.0 during a 24-hour period yesterday, making “Download Day” an unqualified success. As I type this, the total number of downloads is 8,846,784.
The Mozilla team is currently talking to the Guinness World Record officials about to what degree Firefox set a record. Hickey says the unofficial record for downloads in a 24-hour period is 5 million (”I read it somewhere yesterday,” he says), and I’m inclined to believe him.
There’s a fun map on the Firefox site showing country-by-country downloads. The highest number is the U.S. with (so far) 2.69 million downloads. The lowest? Liberia has four downloads so far. Western Sahara, which may or may not be an officially recognized country, has zero downloads. But my guess is that the people there have more pressing things on their mind than the Awesome Bar.
How’s the transition from 2.0 to 3.0 been for y’all? I don’t use too many extensions (only AdBlock and Better Gmail), so everything has been fine on my end.

I need my tab mix plus. Nothing can replace it. I also miss my paste and go. Everything else of necessity is working just fine. Stealther, Adblock Plus, netvibes extension, bugmenot, scrapbook, fireftp, and even though secure login is acting weird, it still works. It is painful without tab mix plus though. I feel like I am relearning how to open tabs again, instead of just easily double clicking them, and they open up on the far right instead of near to the originating one like I had it. Oh, and built in session saving isn’t working since I relied on tab mix plus for that, and I can’t find the option to enable it. It took 2 weeks for the dev last time to bring it out. Hopefully it is quicker this time around.

Noscript and FlashGot both working fine.
Awesomebar removed (it’s not awesome).
Other than that, Firefox 3 is good.

Use the nightly tester tools add-on to use incompatible addons. Be warned as some addons kinda get screwd up but only very very few.

It’s killed chat in the older version of Gmail. Strange, given that chat in new version of Gmail works.
Kind of a deal breaker for me
