I’m sorry man, I’ve been Iphone-less forever. I decided to finaly get the iphone 3G when it comes out in july. I love the rubbery backing, but the 3G is useless here since they don’t even offer it where I live.

By the way, all I could think of was the cher song, “This is a song for the lonely! Can you hear me tooonight!”

I’m in the same boat as you, John. Gave up my iPhone last week in anticipation of the iPhone 3G, using a Nokia E90 in the meantime.

From the other side of the coin, the person receiving it (I thank a future benefactor for passing their baby on to me, perhaps you..) it will be a joyous day. Your relative will (perhaps) be able to play youtube videos anywhere. Trust me, people to are too poor to buy their own gadgets and rely on their close friends to pass them on are about to enter the happiest weeks of their lives. We are all asking our iPhone-toting friends “What are you gonna do with it, now that you are getting a new one?” Our ideal answer: “Giving it to you, old friend. It is the only way I know to repay you for the great tech support over the years. And, of course, the times you picked me up from [insert party name here] because I was to drunk to form complete thoughts and you are a geek and spent the night updating your Linux installations to the latest kernel.”

Woah, that dream wasn’t half bad…
