Lol, yeah, patients is a virtue that I've never had. I also broke a 360 controller while playing Def Jam's Icon, a PS3 controller while playing UT3 (Those Midway servers kept crashing my system in January) and a couple Sega controller because I could never finish Echo the "F***in" Dolphin.

Have never been more proud to be a fan of the series. I see the reward you get when playing a stealth game like this... I also see what it can do to those who don't have any patients... "I needed to find a gaurd’s gun, or something along that line, so I could dress as a guard and get past the last portion of the game. Well, I never found it and broke my PS2 conroller and threw the game away." ...Wow.

MGS was a great game back in the day. I loved every MSG up until MSG3. Not that the graphics for the time were bad or the story line was thin, but rather because I was unable to finish the game. I needed to find a gaurd's gun, or something along that line, so I could dress as a guard and get past the last portion of the game. Well, I never found it and broke my PS2 conroller and threw the game away. After that traumatic experience, I hated the WHOLE MGS franchise.

Well, dispite hating all things Metal Gear Solid, I rented what I thought was going to be Konami's giant turd called MSG4. Played, loved it, returned it, bought it. The game is the tits, you know?! Like a big pair of double D's dangling in your face. Richard has a point about the emotional attachment that developes through out the whole game, it's there and very apperant. My girlfriend, who hates all video games except for her Super Mario World 3 and Duck Hunt, for the first time ever sat by my side and watch me play games. She sat through the regular game play say $h*t like "look out. There's a guy over there" when I didn't see him and she was the one who told me how to beat Vamp. This has little importance other than to underline how great the story line is for gamers and non-games alike.

The game was great and I highly recommend it.

In my opinion MGS4 is not only the best game in the franchise, but the best game I have ever played.

Beyond the *incredible* technical prowess of the game, Kojima has woven a storyline that makes you genuinely care about Snake, and leaves you with a sense of fullfillment with the way he ties up all the elements of the story.

I have never cared more about a character (book, movie, game) than Solid Snake.

It's sad to see this great franchise come to an end.

Actually it was the MSX2 Computer System.

It was then released on the NES in 88 and PC-DOS in 90.
