I tried that already, but it didn’t work… Must have been caused by the media file itself, as I found another version and that played fine.

You can over come the sync issue by fowarding then rewinding, as i found out by chance. Try it!!!

ya really also looking for mkv support for my hd screenplay, I don’t where I read it there it was written that its support mkv. and i bought I’ve collection of mkv but looking for some firmware update so I can play this on my lcd

I do not find that this unit is noisy at all. You hear a slight whir as the disk spins up. No worse thatn a the soudn you would hear in an IDE Drive on a PC. The fan is extrememly quiet.
Ive had mine for over a year and love it. I was actually looking today to see fi there was a patch for MKV support.

Has anyone else experience the fact that for some movies the video and audio are out of sync?
Movies play well on PC.

Does anyone know if the Iomega can run/play AVI files that use the RMVB codec ?

I was wanting to purchase this, or thew 1TB version, but can’t find any definite answer on RMVB. And Iomega don’t seem to be too quick in replying to the contact us questions.

I’m having the same problem as Andre!
I tried to convert a .mkv movie to a .xvid or .avi or a .mpeg and eventually non worked! Always gave me errors like ‘reso not supported’ or ‘ format not supported’ and other errors..

I’m desperate as I don’t know what to try anymore..
Can someone help me??

how do i know when a firmware update is realese
? i bought one and i didnt know that this doesnt read mkv files i thought it would make it! now i downloaded many movies in hd and cant see then trough the iomega scrennplay hd! :S

Perhaps the reason you can’t write to the disk via Mac “could be” that the disk is NTFS formatted. I don’t have one, but if this is the case, I would recommend installing MacFuse and the NTFS-3G filesystem to allow writing to the disk.
