Dan,
I tried that already, but it didn't work... Must have been caused by the media file itself, as I found another version and that played fine.

I do not find that this unit is noisy at all. You hear a slight whir as the disk spins up. No worse thatn a the soudn you would hear in an IDE Drive on a PC. The fan is extrememly quiet.
Ive had mine for over a year and love it. I was actually looking today to see fi there was a patch for MKV support.

Does anyone know if the Iomega can run/play AVI files that use the RMVB codec ?

I was wanting to purchase this, or thew 1TB version, but can't find any definite answer on RMVB. And Iomega don't seem to be too quick in replying to the contact us questions.

Thanks.

Perhaps the reason you can't write to the disk via Mac "could be" that the disk is NTFS formatted. I don't have one, but if this is the case, I would recommend installing MacFuse and the NTFS-3G filesystem to allow writing to the disk.
