AT&T says the Samsung Omnia i900 will be out in the US in Q3

It’s been reported that the highly anticipated Omnia i900 will be out in the third quarter of 2008. You might remember this phone as being the one announced on June 9th — you know, the day that other phone was coming out. MobileCrunch got their hands on it last week and it looks pretty nice.
The Omnia will run on Windows Mobile 6.1 and feature a 5 megapixel camera, 3.2″ WQVGA touch screen, Bluetooth, and either 8GB or 16GB of internal memory. It’s also reported that it will work on the EDGE network, not 3G, which is pretty disappointing. Oh well. If you love WinMo, this is probably your most luxurious option. But that’s a pretty big “if.”

How does AT&T keeps on getting all the good phones and my carrier (Verizon) gets all the crappy phones???
I was really all the features about this phone at http://www.Samsung-Omnia.org I got to say it’s really amazing.
The Samsung Glyde is no where near this Omnia both features and look and feel, it’s really disappoint for verizon. Verizon needs to get its acts together soon or they will get hammered by AT&T.

Because Verizon just loved to cripple the phones by putting their own crappy firmware on them. This gets rid of nearly every useful or near feature of the phone. For example, on the phone i bought from them they had disabled the bluetooth file transfer and setting your ringtone to anything not bought from the verizon store (where a 30 second mp3 is 3 dollars). They also dont use sim cards so if you want to buy a new phone, you HAVE to buy it from verizon so you cant buy a phone off of ebay and use it on the verizon network. Most of their phones use CDMA, which cant be used outside of the US.
Anyway, maybe the manufacturers dont want their phones to be a crippled piece of mess, that’s why no good phones come out on verizon.

I signed up for AT&T and the Terms and Conditions were horrendous. After reading them I packaged everything back up and set it back.
