I’m loving how with a few modifications, these next-gen consoles are becoming true media centers. From running third party apps to installing Linux, it seems that this stuff is just a couple clicks away (if you’re willing to fiddle with your hardware a little bit). 20% of my queue are Watch Now titles. Not bad. And that doesn’t count TV shows I’d watch.
I set this up a few nights ago. I wouldn’t call it simple. It took about an hour to get completely working. Once I got it going, I was VERY happy with the results.
Then, the next night I tried it, I kept getting errors that forced me to uninstall the plug-in, and the 360 as an extender on my media center, re-install it all, re-set it all up. So, another hour. I’ll be very sad if I have to go through all of that every night I want to stream Netflix.
I’m going to keep trying though, because the end result is so satisfying.
