BlackBerry Bold hands on: You know, for everyone

I got a little face time with the BlackBerry Bold today and came away impressed. The BlackBerry Bold is a new step for RIM. Whereas the Pearl aimed at the non-smartphone user who wanted some email functionality, the Bold clearly aims at a new audience - the extreme emailer in a casual business. Whereas most of the line is built for IT guys and members of the khaki-clad workforce, the Bold promises something a bit more than email and instant messaging.
Sure, you’re basically dealing with the same hardware but I’m glad to see that RIM has fixed most of the minor problems I’ve had with BBs so far - wonky browsers, unintuitive UI, and the rest - and come away with something quite nice. This is one BB I’m looking forward to.

Cute but is it enough to hold off the iPhone 3G onslaught?
I can’t wait to see what they do with the web browser.
So far from what I’ve seen (mostly 2 second herky-jerky camera phone videos) the browsers is not changed that much.
If the browser were that much improved I’d think that people would be reviewing it .. although by the time this thing launches I expect to see a contest “guess the blogger’s hands” — because that’s mostly what I’m seeing of the Bold .. hands and opening screen.
