		<description>Your old DVD collection is safe, as Blu-ray is backwards compatible.  This is fundamentally different from the VHS-to-DVD transition.  Personally, I'm not replacing many of my DVDs with Blu-ray, but all new movies I buy are Blu-ray, so it's a steady migration.  I do agree that HD adoption and Blu-ray adoption rates are directly related.  Hopefully once the digital switchover occurs, more people will upgrade their TVs.
As for physical media versus download... don't get me started.</description>
