Radio Shack ad confirms Xbox 360 price drop

radioshackad

High res available here.

This purported ad sent in by a Radio Shack employee to Joystiq backs up the last week’s ad from K-Mart that Microsoft will give the Xbox 360 a price cut during E3. Hold off a few weeks if you’re in the market, kiddies.

Yay, that extra 50 bucks will go towards fable 2 when it comes out.

Just thought id mention that my lil bro called me extremely sad last week and told me it happened. I said what, he said “The Rings”. So sorry to all of you MS backers that are getting screwed by the man.

Microsoft should drop the price to $100 or less. I bought a 360 when the price was $400. As soon as I bought it, they dropped the price to $350. Then, a few months later I got the 3 red flashing rings. I sent that box in a they shipped me a another 360 box. Now, this one is giving me 3 red flashing rings. Not to mention the slowness, lagging of their server while playing Halo 3 and charging the ridiculous online membership fees, while the PS3 Online is FREE? That’s why I say it should be $100 or less. OH! I forgot to mention the price for accessories. The 360 does not have built-in wireless like the PS3 nor a 40GB HD. So, if you want to play online, you have to buy a gaming bridge or wireless adapter, which would cost an additional $50 or more dollars. And the year membership of online play is $49 dollars. If you want to download a game, it is going to cost you Microsoft points. So, you are going to have to pay a price for that. It’s all ridiculous. Also, you cannot play all XBOX title games on the 360. It is not backward compatible with older games like the PS2 being able to play all PS one games. Microsoft is softly nickle and diming it’s users. Especially me!

Just because something is free, doesn’t make it better. I’ll gladly pay my $3 per month to MS (via a 13 month membership card) than take Sony’s lackluster online experience.

I will agree with you about wireless support and to your list PS3’s support for bluetooth headsets.

PS: Backwards compatibility is always overrated, it’s cool for about the first 6-12 months, then nobody really wants to play their old games, they want the hottest graphics. Only a small handful of games are so fun with decent graphics to be timeless.

Actually, I prefer how MS handled Halo 1 & 2 on the 360, as you can play the games in full 720p HD with improved graphics, and this upgrade was free on the 360.
