You seem to be missing the rumours in the UK about the pay and go packege from O2. The phone (16GB) will cost £359 ($717) with free UNLIMITED data for 6 months, followed by £10 ($20) per month. This is fully unlimited data… That seems pretty cheap to me.

Look carefully, for the 16GB w/ max plan, one is playing 700USD upfront and ~36USD per month.
Not as cheap as it sounds but not bad either.
Note that in HK minutes are super cheap.
Sorry, I didn’t quite get it. Maybe it’s because while you guys here are talking about plans for your 3G iPhone, we were just in the dinosaur age with cellphones…nah, when will we ever get there?
well wat you can do in the us for a 40$ iphone plan is get the minimum service for 30$ and then have ur family of watever get a group plan and then u can add the iphone voice for 9.99. this includes unlimted night and weekend calling.
What else i was trying to figure out is the iphone has a wirless connector so it can connect to a modem for free if its free or u know the password.
I mean att cant charge u for connecting ti a free modem
