I got a brief hands-on with the latest TI Pico projector over the weekend and it’s much improved from the prototype I saw last year. Texas Instruments has managed to cram that LED lit projector into a BlackBerry Curve. Of course, they stripped everything else out of it, but that’s not really the point. Previous prototypes shown by TI were double, maybe triple, the size of the Curve. TI is certainly getting there and once it’s small enough and efficient enough, we’ll be seeing it in a slew of random places you never thought about.

So, was that a functional BlackBerry or just a demo shell with just the projector guts in it?
It wasn’t even a functioning blackberry it was a dummy phone to begin with. So, this is just stupid… why didn’t they just shove it into a big mac or quarter pounder instead.

A hand held projector would not be that stable. I call fraud.

Projector produce much heat that it will smelt the keyboard. I think you must have a span of water when you turn it on.

and you never see the mobile and the picture on the wall at the same time….
If this comes out for the Blackberry curve, not only will i want it on my curve, But the Iphone is finished as we know it..wow!

Microvision already has a MUCH better projector embedded into a working motorola phone! They’ve been showing it for months now! This TI projector phone is just a shell with a crappy projector filling it up.
This not fake guys… I have seen this one on my own… It is real and very much possible.. There are others in the market too.. Like Microvision and LCos solutions
