Grab a moist towelette for some hot diskette unboxing

Oh yeaaaah. Mmmm, that’s the stuff. Check out the melt-your-face-hot unboxing of a ten pack of single side, single density floppy disks over at Geekadelphia.

Oh man, they’re Wang compatible too. Well, there goes the rest of my afternoon. Hit the jump for some more photos (NSFW). Oh yeaaaah…

Who’s that sitting in the drawer there? Naughty diskettes, that’s who…

Oh my, this diskette seems to have lost its protective sleeve! Yum, yum, yum.

Oh, man… I haven’t seen an 8-incher like that since my old college days…

These are good for holding other kinds of “data” too. My band used 8″ floppies as part of a 7″ vinyl release. You can hear the release at Obliq.net, here is a picture of our (mis?) usage of this technology:

I actually only was able to procure 400 of these things from a company that STILL manufacturers these (they are EXPENSIVE); I was able to talk them out of their QA lab’s stash of “trash” for the price of shipping for this project. They only could give me 400; hence the # of records we pressed!

5 1/4″ diskettes are great holders for CDs or DVDs too (5″), so for your next party invite you can give a disk of music in a floppy diskette and show that technology weenies can compete with scrapbookers anyday ! LOL!
