Now that “it” is coming out tomorrow, you should be able to find 1st generation iPhones on the cheap on Craiglist and the like. I just did a search on Craigslist New York and found a bunch of phones in the $150-$300 range.
Grab a cheap one, jailbreak it/upgrade to 2.0 and you’re golden. I’m very much considering this option.
If you’re gonna do this, go the whole nine and run it on T-Mobile. First gen iPoon is EDGE-only anyway, and T-Mo’s data plan is only SIX BUCKS per month. Can’t beat that with a bat.
