I know this kind of behavior is unusual to the rest of the crowd (i.e. MS converts) but this is common in the Apple world. Apple's proprietary aspect is why all of the hardware/software works so well. If Apple didn't do this then they would have called their company Dell. Then Windows would have a chance at 'just working.' With a different name I dont mind 'apple tax.' It keeps things running smoothly, although I bet its higher then it needs to be.
