To censor groups that have nothing to do with the case is a sign that ISPs are taking advantage of this situation in order to reduce costs involved with Usenet. Funny how no statement from any of these ISPs state any type of fee reduction as services that were normally included are no longer offered.
Ive migrated to Newsdemon for my Usenet access as they are offering 15% off every plan FOR LIFE for any subscribers of ATT and AOL
See details here

Time Warner in NC turned chickens**t a couple of weeks ago. They simply shut down ALL newsgroups, with no warning. They didn't even warn their support folks of it, based on correspondence I had with them the week prior to the shutdown, and the wait time for any support the night it happened.

Oh, but not to worry - being the good corporate citizens they are, they directed customers to sites that offered Usenet services that started at $20/month. Nice folks. Oh, and they claimed it was due to "lack of interest by their customers."

If you have RoadRunner in the Raleigh, NC area, call and complain - loudly but politely. With a small bit of work, they dropped $30 (after taxes & fees) from my monthly bill for 2 years. Even if you didn't use Usenet - complain.

I thought Romney sounded fairly well versed in the TechCrunch interviews you guys did.

Cuomo is just building his resume for when he runs for governor in 2010 or whenever. Taking steps to fight child porn is a great bullet on that resume, even if the steps he took were largely symbolic. Most people won't understand that. This is how the country keeps getting politicians referred to as "hawk"'s on a particular subject. Their egos far out weigh any real knowledge or experience they have in their esteemed roles.

...if this posts twice, its because the first time I pressed "submit" it didn't work. That's been happening a lot lately.
