You may remember Das Keyboard as a late entry in our little high-end keyboard roundup. It wasn’t available for purchase then, but it sure is now.

If you’re not familiar with it, Das Keyboard is the keyboard with two distinct features: it has a distinctive (and addictive) clicky noise, and it’s available with all the keys completely blank. There’s nothing less user-friendly, but there’s also nothing more monolithic and impressive. I’ve been using one on and off for a few weeks and you really get used to the click noise; it sets a rhythm and the keyboard itself is comfortable to type on. It has USB ports but doesn’t require any drivers, which is nice (my computer is a driver jungle). It’s a bit dear at $129 (it’s kind of a “boss” keyboard) but at least you get free shipping.

  • wow, this is the most ridiculous piece of product design I’ve seen in a while.

And $129? fuck that. I’ll rub off the letters on my $10 black keyboard. And I can pop bubble wrapping if I want satisfying hand-ear sounds.

What an unnecessary, anti-practical, pretentious piece of crap.

  • I have to agree with Bassem B.. This is ridiculous and anyone I know who gets it will be mocked and laughed at.
