The fine forks from MobileRoar are reporting that they got some hot details on a LG Voyager update from a “reliable” source. LG is calling this update the Voyager Refresh and it’s basically a firmware update free to all Voyager owners. The hardware has supposedly been improved too and you should be able to notice some cosmetic differences. People buying a Voyager for the first time will get the updated hardware and a new USB wall charger.
For old Voyager owners they will be able to take their phone to a Verizon store and have the firmware updated to version V10. The update will include support for visual voicemail, drag and drop icons, copy and paste, and a drawing pad.
These details are from a “reliable” anonymous source so who knows if any of this is true. We should find out in August, since visual voicemail will be rolled out then. I would imagine this update will be released at the same time.
Thats kind of cool actually and great timiming. I was just thinking about picking up a Voyager off of Ebay until I go to AT&T for the new iPhone.
yes this is true…i live with a reliable source, && they told me this yesterday, b/c i’m planning on getting the Voyager, i was goin to get the Dare, but i think the Voyager suits me better.

yes this is true, i have a close source thats works @ verizon && they told me this is coming out should the 1st week og august, its going to have visual voicemail, && even a drawing pad like the dare, its goin to have some features like the dare! && another thing there was talk about a Voyager 2 but its not in the works!
thank the lord i wanted to get rid of my voayger so badly becausue they did a bad job when they first released it when i got it i was gonna sell my voayger on ebay and get the dare but now im not thank god lol
There will be a new LG Voyager 2 coming out at the end of this month (August 2008).
just happened to google ‘lg voyager’ and lo and behold, an update for my phone. only problem, as far as i can tell, is that if i bring it to verizon for the free update, i’ll lose all my pics, games and music. i guess i can put all my music and pix on a card but, games will be lost. let’s face it, verizon isn’t going to credit the money we’ve spent. so, once again, the customer is screwed.
Switch to another company like … AT&T then you’ll feel the real screwing “penetrate”. Have you ever received anal without astroglide? Yeah I didn’t think so.
I updated my voyager to the V10 and the pics and music didnt get erased but the games did. And contrary to popular belief the new update doesnt have the drawpad.
Well…I got this update about a month ago. It did not erase a thing…not music or even games. But, I had to wait about a hour in a half to get it updated at the store…I was disappointed when there was no drawing pad but I didn’t believe that rumor anyways. LG is never known for having that much of extreme firmware updates. The cosmetics I suppose is nice but, Samsung has much better and extreme firmware updates. I still love my Voyager though and it is a hell lot better than the stupid iPhone! I got the iPhone to try it out, and the sound quality is horrible and does not have nearly as many features as the Voyager! Long live Verizon!!!!!!
