Sigh…turns out free AT&T Wi-Fi is bogus (again)?

Oh, here we go. Ars Technica is reporting that the whole free AT&T Wi-Fi for iPhone users thing we told you about earlier today was yet ANOTHER mistake by AT&T. Ars spoke with AT&T spokesperson Seth Bloom, who said, "We have not made any announcement regarding free Wi-Fi and iPhone… The webpage was posted in error and is being removed.” However, he went on to say, “Wi-Fi is a real differentiator for AT&T and it is our intention to make it available to as many customers as possible."

I have no idea what’s going on anymore. One of Ars’ readers commented that she’s been able to get on a couple of AT&T’s Wi-Fi hotspots for free. Maybe AT&T actually flipped the whole thing on for a while, too, instead of only posting it on the site.

Matt (Who am I?)

Here in Canada, our iPhone plans come with free access to Rogers/Fido hotspots. Although, I’ve never actually seen a Rogers or Fido hotspot…
