I’m not sure why you castigate this as madness. It is an interesting little toy. You get a little digital doll basically. I’m not sure if you are aware, but dolls are pretty popular in the world. Kids have played with them for years. This involves changing their clothes and probably interacting with them in all sorts of funny ways. This is just a virtual doll that animates. The tech is actually pretty interesting. Maybe you need to relax and put the stereotypes down and back away.
